Croydon Climate Action (CCA) is a dynamic community group dedicated to making a meaningful impact on the climate and ecological emergencies in Croydon and beyond!  Our mission is to empower local residents, faith groups, businesses, schools and voluntary organisations to take practical actions that contribute to a greener, more sustainable future for Croydon. We also work with Croydon Council and our MPs to influence local and national policies on climate change. CCA is a hub of passionate individuals who believe in the power of grassroots movements to create lasting environmental change. By getting involved, you become part of a proactive community committed to safeguarding our planet for future generations.

 

Overview: As a CCA Team Member, you can join us in shaping our strategy, driving our campaigns, and expanding our reach. You might have expertise in the environment, local government, campaigning, project management, communications, finance, community engagement, you might just want to get stuck in and learn new skills! If you are a team player and are passionate about working through and with others to build a sustainable future for Croydon, your contribution will be invaluable. We welcome enthusiastic people with a diverse range of skills and experiences to help.

 

Can you commit time to:

• collaborate with other team members to develop and implement strategic plans for CCA’s campaigns and initiatives?

• engage in monthly team meetings, bringing your unique perspective to discussions and decision-making processes?

 

Skills and areas of knowledge and experience that would be helpful: 

• Welcoming new CCA members and getting them involved in the action! 

• Investigating and analysing data and information in order to support our campaigns

• Analysing and commenting on reports, plans and policies as part of canvassing and influencing local and national government

• Organising events, workshops, and community outreach activities

• Making bids for funding and managing finance and resources effectively to sustain our work

• Contributing to the development and release of communication materials, including social media content, newsletters, and press releases and managing our email inbox

• Managing our website

• Engaging and networking with local communities and key stakeholders to build sustainability of our campaigns and projects
